Didn't see this posted here but they're considering reclassifying it from schedule 1 to schedule 3.

LINK

I don't know what that would mean for the states but I think it would be a step in the right direction.

Its definitely something he could and should do, in order to have more people responsive to his messaging.

A great thing about it it would force libs to agree with him and that would kill a bunch of them. Second thought , the libbers would probably now say MJ is bad and should be illigal.

If I remember correctly what that would do is basically make it like an over the counter drug. It would decriminalize it everywhere.

Are you capable of having a single thought that isn't about left vs right?

I'm no expert but i believe states could still have their own prohibition or regulations in place.

You know the alcohol lobby will be working overtime at the state level to make sure it's still prohibited. Red states will be bombarded with propaganda that only boomers would fall for

While I'd prefer to have him fully legalize, this would be great for his legacy as a stepping stone. I mean shite, it's got to be close to (if not over) 2/3 of the country supporting legalization at this point. If that doesn't prove to anyone that your elected officials don't listen to and actively vote against their constituencies and in favor of their donors....I'm not sure what will.

Let's hope the alcohol lobby doesn't sway him to hard.

Well this is a political message board and it would be funny.

Well most states have already moved to decriminalize it but it's a problem because it's still criminal at the federal level. Reclassifying it would help to move the reluctant states remaining to decriminalize it as well.

Another thing this would do would be to make it accessible to veterans who use the VA for their health care allowing many people with persistent pain not have to take pharmaceutical pills every day to make it through the day.

Would be a huge deal really.

Or they would see it as new revenue stream in states where it is legal.

Also, reclassification would not decriminalize it by default. Anabolic steroids, ketamine, codeine, etc. are schedule 3 and still illegal without a prescription.

Schedule III requires a prescription.

The biggest benefit to people that already have med cards is it would allow them to purchase and own guns.

It's too restricting on the veterans who use it.

And therein lies the crux of the organized opposition.

Whenever I've gotten pain pills they were generic and about $5.
