LSU football isn't giving up on the No. 1-ranked quarterback in the class of 2026. Per Rivals' Marcus Benjamin, LSU is still making its case to Texas commit Dia Bell.

"They've always been there," Bell said of LSU.

"I've always had a great relationship with Coach Sloan
. He's still chipping away, trying to get me to come out, but I have not made any plans to visit LSU at this point," Bell said.

According to the Rivals' Industry Rankings, Bell is the No. 4-ranked player in the country and No. 1-ranked quarterback. He's the top recruit in the state of Florida. Bell committed to Texas in June of 2024, and that pledge has held firm. The odds are stacked against the Tigers on this one, but Brian Kelly, Sloan, and staff aren't ready to throw in the towel.

LSU is without a quarterback in its 2026 class after missing on top targets, including Bowe Bentley and Bryson Beaver.

According to 247Sports, LSU's 2026 class ranks No. 8 in the country. LSU has secured commitments from two five-stars, wide receiver Tristen Keys and defensive tackle Lamar Brown, but the addition of Bell could launch LSU's class to another level. The Tigers remain in contention for the No. 1-ranked class in the country.

Dia Bell is a stud, and it hurts TX. Would be epic.

Yes, and CC said the staff was still "on" a QB or two. As usual, El Capitan is in the know.

Arch underperforming would have a big effect. If Sark has 2 of the highest rated QB's ever, Ewers and Manning, both underperform, it would put serious questions on his ability to develop a top QB. Kelly has shown the ability to develp very well

He could come in and compete for starter immediately rather than sit behind Manning for another season

There are several reasons he should pick LSU over Texas, but if money is the decider, we will not win this one.

It’s wide open for next year. I really don’t think our 2026 qb is on the roster unless one of the two backups takes a huge leap. That’s the ultimate recruiting pitch to one of these young talented freshmen or portal qbs. Come be the starter on a talented SEC team.

Wait a year behind Manning or come to LSU where the path is in place to start year 1 in 2026
If not a high school guy, LSU will have to go into the portal.
I also think Bowe Bentley will be an option if things go south at OU

Sloan has been doing horrible ever since Underwood got flipped. Dude can’t recruit a HS quarterback to save his life

Well if you don’t mind me asking you as to why he shouldn’t leave Texas for LSU?
