Saints made a run at Eagles backup QB Tanner McKee?

I was listening to the Bussin with the Boys podcast, featuring former Saint Will Compton and former titan taylor lewan. They were talking ball and mentioned the Saints “threw the kitchen sink” at Philly trying to get Tanner McKee. It was quick blurb, almost like they should not have said it, and moved on. I would think nothing of it but they had just had Philly GM Howie Roseman on the pod, and I assume this may have been discussed behind the scenes
Considering Moore was with him in Philly, it makes sense. It makes one wonder what his intention is/was at the QB position going forward

Considering what "throw the kitchen sink" has meant in terms of our trades with the Eagles, I'm glad we failed.

obviously pre draft. Shough does sort of fill that McKee type stature... better runner. Similarish arm talent and stature.

They signed him for depth in 2019 and he got hurt in a preseason game then released. Not sure he was here even a month

then why are you confused about kellen moore's intention? it was his intention to bring in mckee to probably be the starting qb "compete" especially since they had knowledge of Carr not coming back. This was probably the primary route desired over drafting one of the qb's in this class that was considered a bit weaker and some wildcards.

The eagles drafted Kyle McCord in April and traded for Dorian Thompson in March 2025. There is nothing confusing other than when McKee trade talks may have happened

The QB position is fluid until it isn’t. Could’ve been talks from February to present, though I’m inclined to believe they took place before camp began

Yep. Roseman has pantsed Loomis so many times that if the Saints actually offered the "kitchen sink" McKee would be in NOLA and Philly would have multiple top 100 draft picks courtesy of the Saints.
It sounds like Loomis may have inquired, but stuck to this new found restrain of not peeing all over himself to give away valuable draft picks to sign marginal players.

Not sure about that. It would make as much sense for them to look for competition that's worked with Moore after Carr dipped and we were left with a group of greenhorns.

Not speaking in absolutes on something that isn’t verifiable is not pretending anything. It very well could have been predraft but that doesn’t change anything - There are still 7 NFL starts between 3 QBs on our roster. The only mystery is if we have a starting calibre QB
