FYI, Last drop-dead date was April 25th, so no. Johnson will have to stay at RB and WR. is the only option. They are adding some wild cat plays to.

This is very little depth for a DI program, that's the concern.

I bet we’ll use Zavion Thomas, Jelani Watkins and Johnson in a good bit of run packages. Speed will stupid off tackles.

However what are you going to get when the reality of the situation is you are trying to sell a position with a true freshman who established himself during the season as a starter AND the number 1 running back in the nation coming in?

You can see that in action the next time the portal opens. We will pay millions to an established RB to come here.
Then we will pay millions to at least two high school RBs. Just a thought here, maybe look to another state to get RBs going forward.

and if Holly was cleared and Lindsay doesn't associate with thugs, people would be bitching about the staff wasting a spot and NIL on a portal RB.
Just bad roster luck. I think they will be fine as long as injuries don't go crazy.

LSU had 26 carries (not counting QB) outside of their top three backs last season.
Then you have guys like Johnson, Thomas, Brown and Anderson who can get a few touches out of the backfield.

We typically dont run the ball much with our backs, but it's really only a true concern if Durham or Jackson get injured, because then it's basically 2 guys with no real RB reps at this level to pair with whoever is healthy between Durham and Jackson.
Between Durham/Jackson and sprinkle in some Berry/Johnson/Thomas, they should be fine there.
With a QB who doesnt run the ball we averaged ~25 carries a game between the RBs last season and thats including Thomas' few rushing touches as well with Williams, Durham, Emery, Jackson, Johnson
In the end hard to see what would happen to Lindsey and they obviously thought Holly's situation would have been closed out prior to the start of the season and it didnt work out that way. They should have just convinced Emery to stay because having that experience alone would have been nice, but maybe they tried and he just wanted some new scenery at this point. It's also possible they just thought Emery was beyond damaged goods at this point and didnt bother trying to keep him around.
