There were rumors all over SEC last year that several teams knew our signals, and plays before we ran them the biggest being Bama. I don't know if they found out the keys, were signal stealing or we are just that eat to read.

I know I saw somewhere where debores said they had LSU completely figured out and knew what plays they were going to run.

Whatever happens I hope we fixed whatever the problem was.

I was really surprised see Debores admit that. It probably had something to do with DJ Chester having to play center or something

At times, we were just that easy to read. Sloan's not a terribly innovative play caller, at least not when we're in the red zone. Hopefully he's gotten better with a year under his belt, but I still feel he's in over his head.

This is the first time I'm hearing about this as well. OP needs to elaborate more on this.

He needs a Joe Brady type coach to help with Red Zone and 3rd down like Brady did for Ensminger.

When the BK tenure is over it will come down to a series of bungles that could have easily been avoided if he were willing to take advice and didn’t have such a big ego.
1)Hiring Polian as recruiting coordinator and letting him take a national recruiting approach. The class under him from 2023 has almost entirely transferred out and it’s why we’d be in big trouble this year without the portal bailing us out.
2) Hiring Matt House as DC and two completely unqualified DB coaches. While Matt House was here we had the worst defensive staff in the SEC. No development and awful recruiting occurred under his tenure. It has taken two years to reverse the effects of House.
3) Letting Denbrock go and not hiring a qualified replacement. Obviously Denbrock wasn’t perfect but he certainly was very good and experienced. I understand not wanting to pay him what ND did but to not get a real replacement and promote Sloan instead was a real head scratcher. Guy had called plays at the G5 level once and wasn’t anything special. Also he’s got a reputation of being a real arse hole. He’s a good qb coach and should have just stayed in that role. And if this year the team falls flat and goes 8-4 again it will be squarely on the offense bc the defense by all indications will be legit. Will this one get BK fired? Honestly it should but I think Woodward will keep him through 2027 regardless of record. The huge buyout plus Woodward will not want to admit his big hire was a mistake.

Yup. Sloan is unqualified and was retained to keep Underwood and couldn’t do that.

Does this resume scream “LSU OC” to you? He was a lazy, embarrassing hire.

This can only be fixed with technologies such as encrypted mind/thought control chip implants…

I dont know about the signals but teams, especially Bama, have staff that analyze tape for "tells" which are things players do in certain situations. Like an OT that puts his foot a certain way on a pass play or a RB/WR that does something preplay before they get the ball.

I remember one of the Bama LBs talking about this on SECN film room a few yrs ago.

We were also limited in the types of plays that we could. Probably only able to use 2/3 of the playbook.

You think LSU "let Denbrock go"?

This same board believes Joe Brady ran the 2019 offense with zero prior offensive coaching experience.

What exactly should an LSU coordinator's resume look like? Who would you hire?

2/3?

Not only are we going to use the whole playbook this year, but we’re going to use the secret one as well.
