Even trying to be creative and use formations and schemes that the defense hadn’t seen up to this point, we still got stuffed. Different team, same problem. At least the defense should be able to keep us close in big games this year.

You have any specific reports you'd like to share with the class to support your claim?

I'll go out on a limb and say our rushing attack will be improved this season.

What scrimmage reports? I’d love to read them.

Defense will eventually break if the offense can’t hold on to the ball…

For your reading pleasure -

Per Koki Riley of The advocate:

Both the first and second team offenses struggled to move the ball against either defense. Neither offensive line could generate running lanes for the running backs. Sophomore tight end Trey'Dez Green failed to haul in a walk-in touchdown grab and was called for holding on what would've been a touchdown for senior wide receiver Zavion Thomas.

Even the new wrinkles offensive coordinator Joe Sloan tried to install before the scrimmage didn't go as planned. The offense worked on a variety of plays involving sophomore running back/quarterback Ju'Juan Johnson throughout practice, in which Johnson would receive the direct snap. During those plays, Nussmeier would either line up at wide receiver or motion out to the perimeter.

The Tigers also had a variation of the concept involving sophomore running back Caden Durham receiving the snap directly instead of Johnson. The offense ran a play with Johnson receiving the ball and Durham getting a snap against the first-team defense, but neither sequence turned into a substantial gain.

The unit also had trouble containing the defense in the run game. On the last play of the scrimmage for both second-team units, redshirt freshman linebacker Tylen Singleton was able to break loose into the backfield and force a fumble from freshman running back Harlem Berry.

Our D line is a lot more talented than last year! Clemsons is overrated. Especially against the run. We will dominate their line.

Cover story as a false flag so Clemson reads it. Caden Durham going for 200 yards in the first half.

Scarborough said today he liked what he saw from the RBs, specifically Durham, Jackson and Berry. Said they had some nice short runs, some 9 yard runs that he said some observers thought might be 11 yards.

Been a theme the entire camp so far.

Either LSU's front seven is going to be way better than people think or we in for another serious concern season where LSU can't run the ball. If LSU can't run the ball this year like in years past under Kelly they're not going anywhere. They absolutely have to run the ball effectively to take pressure off Nuss.

Personally, I think this defense is just going to be better than people think. I'm not too worried about offense because they're still getting temporaily shutdown in practice then hit a big play if everything is not flawless on defense. This offense is too good to be shutdown. Probably more signals how good and surprising the defense will be. I am concerned about the OL though.

Maybe they should try letting the RB’s “open carry”, while playing. I hear some are quite good with iron in their hands

2 tight ends and a full back. Let’s take the best players (our WR group) off the field.

imo a lot of this is good news. we know that we can score points because we have nuss in his second year and way more speed on offense. we know that if we cant block them we have a good rb to run screens with.

we now know that our defense is pretty freaking nasty and deep.

We know we can score points with 4 veteran OL from last year. We don’t know what our offense will look like with Nuss running for his life and no run game.

It is still 3 weeks away. We are rotating linemen. We have a loaded DL with an OL learning. We know what we have with the receivers and QB. I don’t think it’ll be a strength but guys like Moore and Thompson have played big time football. It won’t be as bad as ppl anticipate
