Medellín, Colombia

I have some time on my hands in the next few weeks and I am looking to shoot down to Colombia. Live in Guatemala currently and flights look good. I also speak the native tongue there, so getting around should be easy.
I have heard promising things about the Las Laureles area of Medellín. Apparently it is up-and-coming.
Any recs will be much appreciated.

My coworker went to a bachelor party there last year and they hired some girls to hang with them at their house they rented for the week.
He ended up falling for one of the call girls, came back to Dallas and told his wife and kids he wants a divorce. Bought the girl a house in Columbia for her family and moved her to Dallas. Knocked her up and they just got married.
That's all i got

I stayed in Poblado last year. It was an experience. Did a day trip to Guatape, basically a recreational lake area, walked the stairs of La Piedra to see the view. Did the El Castillo tour in Medellin. MetroCable to Rio and San Javier. I’d go back. Never felt unsafe and a 12 yr old sold me the best sombrero ever.

You have to start manageable fights with them. It is a cycle where they start a fight to test you. If you pass you get the latina that cooks and screws your brains out. If they run all over you then it becomes a nightmare

It was too long ago to make any specific recommendations but I stayed in Laureales for a couple of weeks after spending a week in El Poblado and much preferred Laureales.

They are passionate and their culture raises them to be that way. Just watch some of their tele novellas. My gf watches "Until you Burn" on netflix and it is a bit over dramatic because that is their culture. They get jealous no matter what for the most part. My cuban gf was the only one that didn't get jealous but she was one of Cuba's top models for awhile so she already had that confidence. The other two lose could spin a story in their head in a matter of seconds and move from the chisme phase to the chancla phase just as quickly. All that being said, they will take care of you and love you in ways an American woman cannot fathom.
By the way, Essined Aponte on that show is fricking hot
