Here is one I heard recently.
Pain is inevitable Misery is optional or
Pain in life is inevitable but Misery is optional.

Never heard that one before but it reaks of wisdom.

Youth is wasted on young people.

Getting old is terrible but it beats the other options.

A boss / mentor in my career told me he'd rather me make a decision and be wrong instead of asking him how to handle every situation. He also told me he couldn't stand people who were always "getting ready" to do something..

Don't ever, for any reason, do anything to anyone for any reason ever, no matter what, no matter where, or who, or who you are with, or where you are going, or where you've been... ever, for any reason whatsoever.

Kids today! All that really late night stuff

That is what coaches told us as a kid but it was 9pm

They also told us to rub some dirt on it and get back in the game

My favorite tho was coaches thoughts on the size of linemen
