This seems to be coming together nicely. Bautista is a total fgt offscreen but fits this role pretty well.

The actor will join Henry Cavill and Russell Crowe in the action fantasy, which hails from Amazon MGM's United Artists banner and is slated to get a theatrical release.
Chad Stahelski is directing the feature that is due to begin principal photography at the end of the September and shoot in locales in the UK as well as Hong Kong.

In the remake, Cavill is playing MacLeod while Crowe is Ramirez. Industry actress Marisa Abela also has a leading part.
Bautista will have the plum role of the immortal barbarian known as The Kurgen, who has been killing other immortals across the centuries in order to absorb their essence. Clancy Brown memorably played the character in the original movie.

I'm ok with that pick but he's no Clancy Brown

He better bulk back up then. Because right now he looks like someone’s lesbian auntie.

When i first saw his name I was concerned about the height vs Cavill but apparently Bautista is 6'4 and Cavill is only 6'1 so they can make that work

That’s a damn solid choice if he gets his wrestling build back.

You don't think the version of him on the right isn't scary?
At his age, and if he used ozempic, he's not getting that former build back.
Not happening.

For a sociopathic serial killer or a megalomaniac James Bond villain - sure.
For someone like The Kurgan- not at all.

We're getting The Krugen for the 'modern era'.

Instead of a claymore he decapitates you with seething social media reviews and nasty letters on your windshield.

Are there any really big actors who could even do it? I think about the guy who played the Mountain, the guy who played in Troy and that monster from Reacher S3 but none of them can act as far as I know.
Edit: maybe Cameron Britton? 6 foot 5

With his money and resources, plus muscle memory he could get there again. I don’t know why he would have been using something like Ozempic.

There's plenty of big framed guys out there...3 different actors played The Mountain. But the trick is finding the right one who can act the part.
Alan Ritchson would have bee a good choice.

Wears a cattle nose ring. He always seems like he is over compensating and will eventually come out gay, queer, or maybe a +.
I have only liked him as one character, and that Marvel character didn’t require him to act to play dumb.

The way I heard it, Ozempic deteriorates muscle mass, not just fat, to achieve a slimmer look. Look at the side by side comparison of Bautista...

From his Instagram earlier this year

He could be scary with a bald head and let him go wild. He’s got the booming voice.

He's obviously closeted and deeply troubled. His. Mom is. A bull dyke I believe.
He is also a pretty good actor for a pro wrestler, but possesses nowhere near the charisma needed for the Kurgen.
Clancy Brown was a classic stage actor, which is what you need for a character like this. Someone who can project and overpower the scene.
Dave is not that, but, the again, there aren't too many ppl left in Hollywood who could even remotely pull off a big psycho Causac, which, Bautista is also not. He's Philipino....
