I have a tee time Labor Day weekend. I have never played there. Has anyone played there recently? Any info on the course would be greatly appreciated.

Don’t cut your tee time too close…. You have to drive through a winding road through a pine forest for a few miles after you turn off of 49. Can’t speed through there.

Not a great place from a “service” standpoint. Make sure you buy drinks etc from the bar. I have never seen a cart girl out there.

Cool course…. I just think they’ve had some issues with the greens this year…. According to this board.

A lot of the MS gulf coast courses have struggled a bit this year due to the snow back at the beginning of the year. We played GB back in early May. Half the greens were in great shape, half were not.

The course is in good shape. Service isn't great. Starting with the big guy in the pro shop. Just is always in a bitch mood.

I like the layout a lot. In the woods so you really don't see anyone else as most of the holes are isolated from each other.

No cart girls, but we usually just stop in at the turn and grab whatever.

Now that you say it, the front desk guy really has no personality. Ha

Regardless, its a lot of fun and worth the trip to play. Usually see a handful of deer every time we go too which is a nice bonus.

Don’t leave anything other than your clubs at the bag drop. Friend of mine got his Bluetooth speaker stolen and “no one knew anything.”

It pretty open off the tee - play the correct tees and have fun

Like they said it's like 15 min to the club house from hwy 49 - windy road

Just had our annual guys trip there. Played 2 rounds at GB, 1 at Preserve and the other at Shell Landing. Fallen Oak was closed for like 8 weeks before I booked the trip but we still went to Biloxi anyway.

It was the week of the tropical threat (July 16-20) so the Friday round was cart path only and that really sucked. But that Sunday was fine. Greens were very good. Didn't see any issues. Shell had punched several weeks prior and they were healed. Preserve punched two weeks prior and they were brutal. Very tough to putt on them. It was our first time playing Grand Bear and I was impressed. There was a girl in the pro shop so I missed the big guy delight - thankfully.

We had a cart girl out there too. Just an FYI - although it was easy to swing in the shop at the turn.

Played a couple weeks back. Course was in really good shape. Greens were great. Cart girl on the course.

You will likely see a good bit of wildlife. Love playing out there. It's beautiful.

If you play a fade or your miss is a fade, start all of your drives on the doglegs at the outside of the corners.

Then almost any Jack Nickolas course is designed for you, especially courses 25 years old.
