How does Vicksburg have a more vibrant and beautiful downtown than Baton Rouge?

Like there's a lot going on there. Some actual nightlife and great restaurants.

Last time i was there about ten years ago it was a ghost town shithole with speakers set up all around downtown blaring this creepy elevator music. Ate a bad meal at a restaurant got the hell out of there and said never again.
