Were boomers really that bad?

They were the generation being drafted and shipped off to fight in Vietnam. Weren’t most of the bad policies America adopted done when boomers were still very young? I’m speaking of the welfare state. Boomers would have hit their prime during the 70s-90s. Maybe the national debt is what has everyone pissed off about them?
I’m gen x fwiw. I kinda have the feels for a generation being forced into a BS war and kids coming home in caskets by the 1,000s.

Boomers gave us some great music in the 60s and 70s!

They accepted all the wealth their forefathers worked to give them and got stingy with it when it was their time to turn around and pass it on.
Hence, the national deficit.

A small minority of boomers were drafted 8% of out 27 million eligible at the time of the draft.
2.2 million boomers were drafted for Vietnam, out of a 76 million total in the boomer population as of 2014.

In all honesty, it's not their fault all of the institutions they were supposed to trust lied to them like a borderline girlfriend.

They didn’t fix any of those policies. Reaped the benefits, and messed it up for everyone else. That’s the sentiment of most who hate the boomers.

2.2 million out of 27 million eligible. This doesnt include the boomers that were too young to be drafted.
There are way more boomers than the ones who were eligible to be drafted at the time of the Vietnam war.
As of 2014, there were an estimated 76 million boomers alive...so 2.2 million from 76 million is 2.89%..

Your parents left you out of their estate for many reasons. Don’t blame everybody else for your failures.

I don't recall this "blame BBs for everything" 20-30 yrs ago (whatever generation that was)
It seems to have started about 5 years ago, so this generation (I can never remember the cutesy nicknames) would have a boogie man to blame for their own failures

You can’t paint with a broad brush. Some of the most based people I know are Boomers.

Sure but still a shitty situation. I guess I just knew quite a few who were drafted. Had a cousin drafted and killed 2 weeks in at 19. My dad joined the USMC. Said frick it, if he’s going to be drafted may as welll join the branch he’d prefer. My mom is still pissed he didn’t go navy at the time

please explain "all the wealth" without using ai as a crutch. My father's gift to me in the 1950-60 period of time , was appreciation of doing a good days labor and receive a wage.
please explain how I should be "passing it on" again without ai crutches. I probably will not have it deposited in my casket, so where should it go????????

Sure, but boomers dont get to complain about war that was only experienced by a small minority of their group and had absolutely no effect on the domestic life other than the radical activists.
Boomers were also the hippies.
Conversely, 9/11 radically effected domestic life for the millennials.
