The two will join members of the Hockey Diversity Alliance (HDA) in hosting a road hockey tournament for marginalized youth in Toronto on Aug. 16, the alliance announced Thursday.
The HDA is made up of current and former NHL players of color with an objective to eradicate racism in hockey while making the sport more inclusive and accessible to youths who might not be able to afford to play.
Billed as the world's largest youth BIPOC road hockey tournament, the event will be free of charge for the 250 youngsters set to participate.

If rich people want to go into big cities and give kid a chance to learn and play a sport that’s expensive…. I’m all for it.

“Eradicating racism” as a goal is fricking stupid, there is no racism in hockey
The program otherwise doesn’t seem bad? Hockey is really expensive, I’ve got no issue with trying to get more kids into rinks

But it's not about that any everyone with a functioning brain knows it. This is simply Kaepernick looking for another way to keep the "anti-racist" train going. This dude doesn't give a fiddler's frick about helping black kids man the point or take face offs.

That's different from other sports, and from the workforce. In basketball, you are supposed to take the best players. In other sports and the workforce, you should take less qualified individuals in the name of equality.
