DAT 7/31: Off Day: Deadline Dealapalooza : CORREA BACK Jesus Sanchez IN

MLB TRADE TRACKER
DEALS DANA!
Try to do a recap for those that are not chronically online during the deadline week:
Completed transactions:
Ramon Urias from Baltimore in exchange for 2024 19th rd pitcher Twine Palmer
Impact: Not much offensively, plus defender. Gets Dubon off third base so he can float between 2nd, CF, and LF. I'd imagine takes Whitcomb's spot on the roster
Astros acquire SS Carlos Correa from Twins
Astros acquire OF Jesús Sánchez from Marlins for RHP Ryan Gusto
Reported interests:
Cease - has allegedly cooled
Correa - nothing outside of the headline of a potential return
Alcantara - reportedly cooling because feared not to have enough in a package if another org would swoop in
Nootbar, Burleson, Donovan - report this morning said the Astros were kicking the tires on these three
Please feel free to add if missed any.
Divisional Updates:
Mariners - Going for it, have their corner infield in place. Lots of thump in the lineup.
Angels - Added two middle relievers
Rangers - Reportedly in financial hell. Last I saw they were looking to shed payroll in order to help bullpen
A's - Mason Miller deal looming, will sell off any parts they don't see building around Kurtz, Wilson, Rooker
- Miller and Sears moved to Padres for prospects

Nootbar, Burleson, Donovan

Went to a game Sunday vs the A's, miss the connections with the players.
I'm not fortunate enough to follow the Stros as close as I did in the past, nor do I get to go to games often, but the team was locked and loaded the past few years... trying to get new faces in there that everyone can connect with... I feel like from the outside looking in, its not working. The club is still a winner and the culture created over the past few years is amazing, but as far as connecting with the team its hard.
I do miss Bregman.... a lot, and he is successful and a perfect fit in Boston, but outside of Altuve it's a whole lot of "who?"

Also being swept by the A's didn't help my feelings......

The team has had a successful year so far because Pena and Meyers are having career years. Cam Smith, the rookie, who was in college last year is playing well as well. Parades provided some power before his injury. There has been a lot of upheaval losing Tucker and Bregman but I feel like they still have a nice core going into next season regardless of what happens this year.

Agree 100%
My phone must have heard/felt me...I got a post in my Algo that says...
Bregman - Left in FA
Tucker - Traded
Alvarez - Played in 29 games
Still best record in the AL

Donovan would be such a nice pickup for what they need and also under control for a few more years. Would not be cheap to acquire

I'll guess he and his agent will handle rehab in the offseason elsewhere
ETA: For the retard, that is not a reference to Isaac leaving the Astros. I'm sorry you're so stupid.

The fact that his name is listed and not Gorman backs up my desire for the latter.

I would be in favor of Gorman or any of the three listed for the record. All are different players that bring different things to the table but would be good additions. I think Donovan fits especially well with the versatility he adds. Gorman to me is a 3B/1B that has faked it at 2B because St Louis had to do it to get him at bats. I also didn’t realize how good a year Burleson is having
Of course if Paredes is out for the first few months of next year as well then Gorman can play 3B here for quite a while

So we're all in agreement that the first hamstring scare a few weeks ago is when the initial tear happened and the medical team missed it. Sending him back to tear it completely,?
