My son got a job for the winter in Deer Valley and has to report Nov 19th. We decided to take a quick trip with him for a few days. I've only been there during ski season. Any recommendations on things to do?

There are a ton of good bars and restaurants in the downtown area, along with High West distillery. I've only been in mid-December and even then there wasn't much in the way of snow. SLC is also a fun place to visit for the day.

Been to High West Saloon but not the Distillery. May have to check that out.

It's mid 90s all year.
November is prime for hiking IMO

Just ate at high West saloon again this weekend. It’s very very good.
Also recommend Fletcher’s. Great restaurant.

Wait when is the snow season then?

That year was a down year for snowfall overall but only 20 of the 300+ runs at Park City were open. January/February will be your best times for skiing.

Any reccs for a fairly easy 2-3 hour hike in Park City area?

In November I like the Gamble Oak trail. My daughter was 11 the first time she did it so it's pretty accommodating for most ages / abilities
Right there near Main Street, cool to see basically 360 degrees from Deer Valley, up towards Snyderville, etc.

This was surprising to me too.
We were there one time the first week of December, and they were just getting the first serious snow of the season. The mountains in Deer Valley, Park City, and Sundance had snow, but the valley in like Heber City did not. SLC was not snowy either. I don't think they start fulling opening all the lifts till mid December.

Thanksgiving weekend (weekend after thanksgiving) is the first I've heard of any of the ski slopes really opening and that's generally Jackson hole and further north. Maybe Alta?
November is a tough month to visit ski areas because it could be really nice weather or you could get hit with a blizzard but nothing really be open for "snow" yet.
