Sullivan's Crossing

On Netflix.
Based on the novel series by Robyn Carr, the series follows neurosurgeon Maggie Sullivan who finds herself in legal trouble and returns to her hometown in rural Nova Scotia to reconnect with her estranged father, Sully.
I didn't want to like it. Felt like the story lines were contrived. The characters and plots a little too hokey for me.
But them BAM! Binged watched over the past few weeks the entire 3 seasons and I gotta say, for whatever reason, I got "emotionally hooked".
Week after week. Dealing with one "oh no moment" after "oh no moment". For some reason it draws you in like that.
Sullivan’s Crossing doesn’t just hook people with its plot, it pulls you in with the kind of emotional messiness that feels real. It’s got that quiet charm of a small town but wraps it around big feelings and tangled relationships. You’re not just watching characters go through stuff—you’re feeling it with them. There’s something about seeing Maggie or Sully wrestle with choices that aren’t clean-cut, and how every decision ripples through the whole community. The drama’s there, sure, but it’s the slow burns, personal reckonings, and that sense of “we’ve all been there” that keeps people coming back. It’s relatable in a way that sneaks up on you.

Wife and I watched it when we couldnt find anything else. Its so cheesy. So many melodramatic moments with whiny music as she jogs.

I watched it last week to rest my brain during my lunch hour. It is fine. Not earth shattering,
but an easy, pleasant watch. I binged it in five days.
I found myself saying “boy those people are lucky a neurosurgeon happened by” too many times.
And for a minute I couldn’t quite put my finger on what was just a little odd with the little gay fella…until I did.

It’s definitely not for the typical poster here. Seasons are 10 episodes and it moves quickly. (S3 is on the CW app) The scenery is great. Nova Scotia is freaking beautiful.

Fer sure. But the wife (no pics) and I just had to have closure. We even got that CW App to see what happened instead of waiting for it to appear on Netflix (I think on August 11th).
So, we binged on the CW to close it out. Never heard of it.Damn, that site has 3, YES COUNT them 3 ads, that repeat over and over and over.
But we get to the "Cliff Hanger". OMG, the drama just keeps going over and over and over. I won't spoil it. But the GREAT news for Sully fans is that we gets us a Season 4, maybe in May of 2026!

If you like decent to slightly bad young adult dramas… it’s perfect. And luckily enough that’s almost my ideal genre so it’s great
