Josh, you are the ultimate Tiger athlete. You have been a class act from day one and represented LSU the way all athletes should. I have watched you grow up and can say all of your West Monroe Rebel family are beyond proud of you.

Though he had some big hits, my favorite member about Josh Pearson is the game saving catch he made vs Wake Forest (or whoever it was against) in 2023, a key play in LSU's march to the national title.
I mainly recall the catch.

It was against Florida; a laser off the bat of Wyatt Langford that would have led to yet another 0-2 CWS loss to them.
My finger had almost fully pressed the power button on the remote.
Then another blue collar Tiger not going pro, Cade Beloso took care of the rest.

Wild that not a single minor league team signed him. I don’t know much about baseball. I assume his hitting stats were not favorable for development?

This is what came to mind. That was a game and season saving catch. If he doesn't make that catch the season was over and the Natty would not have happened. He will be missed. He has been a class act since he has been at LSU and I'm glad he got to play one year with his brother. His mama and daddy has to be so proud of him and his brother. Having two of your kids play at the highest level that is not the MLB. His parents raised their boys right

True. But that's is probably the only single play we know for certain that if it isn't made the game is lost. Even if Morgan's great play on the punt isn't made, LSU is still going to have some ABs down only 1-0. Though it's unlikely they would have scored, they still would have had a chance. If Pearson doesn't catch that ball game 1 is over right at that moment. Florida wins.
Yes, LSU would have still had (at least) game 2. But given the pitching circumstances going into that one, and the ultimate blowout that ensued, it's hard to say any other single play was bigger.
