So…it pisses my co-worker off when people wear watches….

Not even joking…..”what’s the point? Why wear a watch in 2025?!?! Everyone uses their phones to tell time now! It’s idiotic!!!!”…..with patience and kindness I tried to reason with him that many people wear watches simply as an article of clothing, or a fashion piece, much like the iconic scarf. It didn’t take. I’ve never worn watches myself, but for some reason it fails to anger me when others do. Wild times.

I tend to avoid people like that at work whenever possible.

Your co-worker is the type to shoot up his workplace. Do not engage.
Well actually, be friends with him in the hopes he doesn’t shoot you when he snaps.

I like watches and have 10 of them. Women can wear earrings and shite, what’s the grip? Quicker to see the time on a watch anyway.

I can't help you are a moron. Plus getting triggered about this reveals you are softer than chinchilla fur.

Said another way 'I am either jealous because I can't afford a nice watch because of what I paid for this phone or - and more likely - I don't know how to read a watch'

Tell him you prefer a backyard sundial as it allows you to touch grass and he should too.

Or. You know. To tell the fricking time.
I hate looking at my phone if I don’t have to and it’s nice to glance at your wrist and know the time. Especially in a meeting or a dark room or really any environment where getting my phone out my pocket would be a distraction or annoyance.
I hate this next generation of fricktards.
Also, good morning everyone and happy Saturday!

Why do so many of you hang out with men who care about other men’s fashion?

I'm wearing a watch right now, at 8AM on a Saturday morning while doing nothing but drinking coffee and talking with you people.
But I'm also 50+...and have been wearing a watch since I was, I don't know, maybe 10?
For a certain set it's just been ingrained in them - a watch is just an extension of their daily routine and, sometimes, who they are.
I will never get why people get so upset about people wearing/spending money on watches. If it's not for you, then cool...that's a you decision...and I fully support you choosing to get the time from your phone or somewhere else.
So why do the non-watch folks feel so much animosity towards the watch folks?
Invite your co-worker to the site so we can have a Q&A. We can't be harmed if he gets uber-triggered, but you might be, so be careful.

I never even notice if my co-workers have watches on

If that's the only thing he has to worry about he has a pretty good life. It is a little odd tho.

Your co-worker has much deeper issues than melting over someone wearing a watch. Tread lightly.

Some of us realized that cancer rates have gone up as watch wearing has decreased.
Especially testicular with the electronic devices in the pocket, near sensitive areas.
Self-winding watches are not disruptive to your body’s bio-electric comportment.
Therefore it is a personal health and safety choice.

I use my watch to tell time. A lot easier and less distracting than pulling my phone out my pocket.

To show the poors you are better than them.

Tell me where he is and I’ll pay a visit wearing my mid 80’s collection of Swatch watches.
