All these late night and daytime talk shows just need to go. Just put reruns of sitcoms or price is right on during those times

More actual game shows would be nice.

I kinda miss the days of all those unusual and fun game shows.

There was a piece last week somewhere about how Colbert was beaten out by Gunsmoke reruns in one media market.

Imagine being one of the highest employees at your company and consistently losing $40-50MM/year for a decade, and then having the audacity to be mad when you get fired.

I don’t know if that is specifically true or not, but this is the crux of the issue that everyone is dancing around. Cable television is over. For those channels that want to still exist, they have to put out low cost programming.

Colbert is not the last. He is the first of a wave show that is going to be canceled. Keep in mind that CBS didn’t just fire Colbert. They ended the entire franchise.

Even if he isn’t beating out gunsmoke, gunsmoke doesn’t cost anything for the carrier to broadcast. Colbert cost $16 million a year personally.

Sorry, not Colbert. It was a story about Neilsen ratings for streaming. Stuff like Gunsmoke is beating out first run streaming stuff from Disney and Paramount.

People who like celebrity interviews can get more interesting long-form interviews on podcasts. Stuff like carpool karaoke and funny skits can be viewed on You Tube and TikTok. People get hot takes on daily news and politics on social media.

There's just no longer a demand for a 1030pm/1130pm show that recaps the day's events, interviews famous people, and puts on funny skits. We can get all of that throughout the day now and don't have to stay up late for it.
