Did anyone else hear about the Blue Slip process on Glenn Beck yesterday?

The Blue Slip Process for U.S. Circuit and District Court Nominations (1917-Present) | Congress.gov | Library of Congress LINK
Ive never heard of this before and Glenn Beck said the same. One of his guest (Can't remember who) said this is how the Senate keeps corruption from being investigated and prosecuted by gatekeeping who gets confirmed and who doesn't.
It's really not surprising that nothing ever changes in DC. We literally have the fox guarding the henhouse in this situation.

I’m not reading all that, but what I did read reads like your standard letter of recommendation. Where’s the conspiracy?

In summary, the DOJ appoints someone to be the AG for the state for the fed govt, the senate must approve. Senators from that state can "blue slip" that person, meaning they will not approve. It never comes to a vote in the senate because of this "gentlemans agreement".
It leads to what we have with Habba, a person trying to root out corruption, and senators and liberal judges trying to stop her by appointing a career "good ole girl". Bondi then fired her, and they will appoint someone else for a 120 days.
Remember when that fat jersey politician stormed the ICE facility and nearly knocked an elderly black female ICE agent to the ground? Habba charged her, then withdrew.....and the politician is suing Habba for defamation. It will probably end up in one front of one of these corrupt judges and Habba will lose the case for trying to stop federal employees from being attacked by fat whales.
THATS why blue slipping is nonsense. Its just another way of throwing the wrench in the system so nothing ever gets done except congressmen become multi millionaires.

How is that codified - or is it just a gentleman's agreement?
IF the latter, they need to retract that clap-trap.
There are no gentlemen - and if there were, they wouldn't be DEMs.

Nothing new but it is not codified, it is just an agreement. unsure if anyone with one has still been advanved but it is likely only D's who got the slip were eventually voted on and advanced....

Not surprisingly, it's also how a lot of local, parish politics works as well. They have refined the game of corruption to the point that they're nearly never held accountable.

Preferable to the blue dress process, which can get a bit messy.

I cant believe people on this board havent heard of the blue slip nonsense. Its THE very reason judges are so political
quote:
January 3, 2018, to present: The lack of two positive blue slips will not necessarily preclude a circuit-court nominee from receiving a hearing unless the White House failed to consult with home-state senators. Hearings are unlikely for district court nominees without two positive blue slips.
