In-N-Out is moving HQ from CA to TN: "It’s too difficult to do business here."

One more billionaire who is sick of Gavin Newsome's bullshite
quote:
Regarding the difficulty of doing business, In-N-Out has rankled with its home state over legal issues in the past—namely, when the business refused to comply with officials and request customers must show proof of vaccination to make purchases.
In-N-Out’s San Francisco restaurant was shut down for a couple of days, with Snyder saying: “There were so many pressures and hoops we were having to jump through.
You know: ‘You’ve got to do this, they have to wear a mask, you have to put this plastic thing up between us and out customers.’ “It was really terrible, I look back and I’m like man, maybe we should have just pushed even harder on some of that stuff and dealt with all the legal backlash. But that was definitely where we held the line, like we’re not policing our customers.”
Likewise, last year, the company told local station KTVU it had raised its prices—a move Snyder has historically fought against—to comply with the state’s fast food minimum wage rules and maintain quality.

Apparently In-N-Out didn't see the latest rankings for Tennessee.
Tennessee last in rankings for QoL

But that isn't what the article says at all.

Nashville is going to be the eastern US headquarters, they will still have base in California.
The company I work for is building two restaurants in Nashville.
They are well built company from top to bottom.
All the lumber and majority of materials are being shipped from the west coast. No local southern yellow pine. Very hands on and very picky which leads all the way to the burger and service.

Maybe the WNBA players can get jobs there?

They support and voted for the politicians that created the California landscape.
It's like setting your house on fire and being surprised it burned down.

In and out of California, just like other corporations.

Quite the contrary, the family that owns In-N-Out have been well-known conservatives. They make very little corporate contributions to politicians, the only corporate donation they gave in 2024 was $10,000 to the Republican party of California.

These rankings are idiotic. What this tells you is that, despite the supposedly bad state of Tennessee, California is so bad that it's worth spending millions to uproot the company and move it.
And lets be honest, you are going to have a bunch of bigshots that move from Irvine CA to somewhere like Franklin TN. They're not exactly going to be suffering in quality of life as if they are in section 8 housing in Memphis or the rough part of Chattanooga.
You won't exactly see their G-wagons being broken into at the Sperry's parking lot on Friday lunch...

You didn’t even read the headline, bro.

I did. She is moving her family out of Cali, not the company HQ. The company is expanding into TN. Words matter.

She is moving the HQ to Franklin, Tennessee. The QOL ranking are dragged down by the absurd violent crime rate in Memphis.

If the CEO is spending all of her time in the Tennessee headquarters is the main headquarters really still in California? Some of you really need help with “context clues.”

That would be really dependent on how much of the workforce they move out of California.
You ever heard of this thing called telework?
