For you amateur astronomers, what are the most interesting aspects of a celestial body...

...you've seen using your own "backyard" telescope?
For me, in order, are:
1) Jupiter's Great Red Spot and Jupiter's four largest moons, Io, Europa, Ganymede, and Callisto,
2) Saturn's rings and its largest moon, Titan,
3) The cloud around the middle "star" in Orion's sword in the Orion constellation which is not actually a star but a massive nebula that only appears to be a star when viewed by the naked eye.

For me, in order, are:

It's very subtle, but with a nice scope, I can look at the finer details of The Pleiades for ages...

I like deep sky astrophotography. Nebulas in particular. I took this last week from my front yard.
