Indy Car is so difficult to watch

I find it so difficult to get into for several reasons. Which is a huge shame
For as much shite as we give F1 from a bad racing standard, at least it is enjoyable to watch.
1 Fox needs to fix their graphics. It’s horrible. Completely takes you out of what’s happening
2. Teams need to have consistent liveries. It’s really really hard getting familiar with teams when they change their colors every few weeks
3. Fox needs to spend less time on bullsh tackiness
4. Reduce the amount of caution time. The Indy car race I went to, at least a quarter of it was under caution.
5. Reduce the length of the races. 90 laps is too much. This race was scheduled to start at 12. They’re on lap 8 of 90. Too fricking long
Many more but I’m getting too sleepy to type any more

Unfortunately, this is mostly a product of how sponsorship works in a lot of the motorsports world now. It’s hard to land one or two sponsors that will take on the load of sponsoring a car for the entire season. Because of that, teams now have to find several sponsors for the season rather than relying on one or two, which means the cars often have a different paint scheme each week. It’s the same in NASCAR.
A lot of big brands have left motorsports altogether. For instance, in NASCAR brands like Home Depot, Lowe’s, Coors, Miller, UPS, FedEx, Pepsi, M&M’s (Mars) have all left NASCAR.

Help me out with understanding what me as a potential fan should be looking for during each lap.
What are the most exciting events that occur? Do some of these occurrences have great rewatch value?

Um, I am by no means an Indy Car expert.
As I point out in this thread, I have a hard time in watching these races due to bad presentation.
However, in general, race craft is a mixture of using a driver’s ability to maximize the strategy that car is most suited for.
Understanding the strategy is very important and how different strategies and driver abilities converge in where a lot of my interest comes from

Would rather watch paint dry

FOX graphics, and overall presentation, generally suck for everything they do.
I get it was a good deal for IndyCar, and FOX promoted the hell out of the series at the beginning of the year, but the momentum fell off quickly. FOX couldn't even get the running order and time intervals correct during the Indy 500.

It's better than watching the F1 parades. but not by much. At least there's actual racing and passing.

Not at all IMO. F1 is infinitely more watchable than this

For me it’s the commercials that ruin it, Today they had a restart after a safety car that resulted in a big crash while they were on commercial break. And then the announcer saying “this is thrilling, can’t take your eyes off it” right before going to another commercial break.

6. Hard to watch knowing there are way to many pull ropes in the garages burning crosses while the race is going on.

That doesn't make sense as a response. Go learn what that means, and get some fresh batteries for your sarcasm meter, grampa.
