I don't like government run DMVs, a government run store would just force private co-ops. You know, until the government bans the free market completely.

Military commissaries are a terrible comparison.

Nobody is shop lifting at the Commissary or BX. Not to mention it is for our servicemen and their families. The servicemen put their lives on the line for next to no pay. The base exchanges are there to make up for that shortfall.

Correct, but some grocery stores in shithole areas have closed due to high crime.
Typical naive socialist sez … “Let’s have the government provide a store … look how many new constituents we can extract votes from”
It never occurs to them to exhibit some common sense….. to address the crime problem as the root cause problem.

There is one municipal owned grocery store in a Minnesota community of 600 people that has worked.
They all fail within a year of opening.
They will use Military base commissaries and BX/PX’s as an example of “state run stores”. But they are not the same. Not even close.
