This was always a very frustrating album for me because of the engineering. The band sounds like they were recorded at a distance and mixed low — at least on my 1st pressing copy bought on the day of release. It never sounded full. I’ve heard a couple of other copies and they weren’t any better.
The band was in top form that day, too bad the recording was whiffed.

It's kind of a head scratcher, considering who the producer/engineer was.
Tom Dowd was supposed to be one of the best.

This one is actually Talking Heads best live album not Stop Making Sense, which is also outstanding. The extended CD was epic.

Some bands are just better live and Skynyrd was one of them. Their live versions are almost always better than the studio version. Allman Brothers are another band.
