Time to retire the old riding mower and upgrade to a zero radius. Anyone have either mower? What’s do you like or dislike about either.

Bad Boy has a 21.5 Kawasaki engine and the Toro has a 22hp Briggs and Stratton.

These sound like 60 ring gauge cigar cutters.

My dad and I both have a 42” timecutter with the 22hp engine.
Both have been great! Only reason I didn’t get the bad boy was bc I didn’t want to deal with the local dealer where I live.

Can you afford a Scag Tiger Cat II, 48"?

I can't imagine a better built one.

Get a Kubota 0% finance, will include kTAc. You can run it in a pond drunk on natty lite and Kubota will replace. When the finance term is up pay for the kTAc and you can run it in a another pond,
Kubota will replace.

I prefer the briggs motor to the kawi.

I have a briggs with thousands of hours. It doesn't miss a beat.

I have a kawi with similar time. ...it ticks.

But i prefer the bad boy mower to toro.

Look at a Scag Patriot 52”. I have one with 500 hours and it has been great. No issues at all. Built like a tank.

Bought two ZTRs this spring. A Bad Boy 54” for the camp and a Hustler 42” for home. Like them both.

Out of these two, I'd go Bad Boy

BUT I second the Kubota. Best warranty in the business.

Just look at what people that mow for living run everyday. I’ll promise you it’s not bad boy. Toro, Scag, Hustler, Exmark & Gravely.

He is looking at entry level zero turns. Not commercial units that would be used by someone in the landscape business. Also vote for Bad boy out of those 2.

We actually own a tractor, mower, implement, and outdoor business and badboy has been the only company that has grown and increased in sales every year. This includes Covid years. They don’t make a perfect product ( anything man made can have issues), but from year to year if there is an issue they address the feedback and complaints. They’ve warrantied their products well for us, magnums have been good, I do like the avenger more bc it’s more serviceable, but I can honestly say we’ve seen less magnums return for work verses maverick hds (entry level commercial).

We sell other mowers as well. We sell Briggs, Kawasaki (our favorite), vanguard, and Kohler. The only one we’ve seen a noticeable amount come back for work is the Kohler. They’re significantly higher. Kawasaki and Briggs have both been good. We sell 5:1 Kawasaki however.

I have no experience with the Toros so take what I’m telling you as just some info on bad boy from a dealer. We’re Hill’s Equipment in Livingston.

Bad Boy but buy it from a dealer. Even if it’s a little more it will be worth it.

I have the 54” time cutter for 3 years with the 24.5hp toro engine. Not a problem yet. I cut 2 acres with it. The suspension is a game changer if you have a bad back.

As the below said, buy from a dealer. They have one down town BR. They will be sealed in a crate and not sitting outside for months
