Such an optimistic offseason thread, I know.

What does next offseason look like if we know we have a gamer at QB?

The other side of this hypothetical coin is obvious for next offseason.

I find it interesting thinking/talking about the positive side, though.

What are the priorities / moves we make next offseason if QB is locked up?

Agreed, but then what with our aging defense?

It will be a pleasant surprise. The odds are heavily stacked against that given 7 year college career and he’s 27 as a rookie.

The arm and measureables are solid but the tape shows a guy who holds the ball too long and panics under duress. Hope Moore can work his magic but it’s not looking good.

Right, I get that.

I didn’t downvote you.

But what are the priorities / moves we make next offseason if QB is locked up?

Edited to add that question to the OP

If by QB is locked up you mean Shough looks like a QB we can win with for 5-10 years edge is biggest priority if we are picking top 5.

I like how Shough keeps getting older. 27 now. 33 by week 1. 42 by next season.

I haven't really watched his film, so this isn't about shough, but the quality of not being afraid to be hit and not panicking under duress is personally my #1 trait in a qb

Shough will not be good in his Rookie Year.

Saints will win 3-4 games next year… and will be placed Top 5 in the Draft Order….

The reality of this will be crushing to most Saints Fans who still believe Saints have a good team.

They will then Geaux after a Franchise QB with the Top 5 pick as their QB Room stinks !

2nd Rd pick on Shough was a waste of a Capital Asset.

Should have picked Best Player Available.

It’s pretty hilarious that the tards on here always complaining about the state of the team and how they know so much also don’t know how old Shough even is.

Truth is if Shough is good this team has a real chance to do something in the next handful of years. They should have an elite level oline and a young promising qb if what you said comes to fruition. They would need to rebuild this defense next. I wish they would have addressed it this year due to the defensive talent in that draft but, that should be next if Shough pans out

then great, we didn't waste the 40 pick, like it's currently feared/thought amongst the majority of fans

well, if he balls out, then we aren't in the top 10, more than likely, so we don't have the ability to take one of the top QBs coming out, nor do we need to, apparently... perhaps we can FINALLY, TRULY go BPA, b/c god knows we haven't been

DE will be vital, with Cam retiring... at true #1 WR would be great... RB is going to become a position we will need to think about addressing... MLB too... and of course, S always seems to need improving

This is actually the most positive post I’ve ever seen from you. That’s pretty impressive actually.

Weird how his birth certificate says he'll be 25 at the start of the season. He's like 2 months older than Bo Nix, who just finished a good rookie season (and didn't have the injury excuse for his prolonged college career).
