I think Nuss and his experience will be big in the game but I think for us to win we will have to really run the ball successfully.

Texas sort of followed that blue print in the 1st round of the CFP.
They relied heavily on the run and let Ewers make calculated throws. Durham has the same mold as UTs Blue and can dice Clemson similarly.

Pretty certain UT finished that game with 3 or 4 rushing TDs and a few of them were 15-20 yard rushing plays.

If that DLine for Clemson is the same group, maybe getting after them in the run game early is a must. Also, the run game will help our OLine not have to be stellar against a great pass rush.

LSU's oline isnt better than their D. Clemson will be a top 3 this season.

Nuss will have to be a threat to run for it to be fully successful

The whole team is going to have to be solid! Offense, Defense, Special Teams, and Coaching!

Man if Durham gets going which I think he will, then LSU has a good shot at winning.

Durham needs to be able to accelerate before defenses can engage him, once he is in open field he'll be able to House very often.
Jackson needs to return to the 2023 form when he showed flashes of Fournette

Agreed. Unfortunately, I see another opening game loss and the potential for this season to be "the begining of the end" for BK. We have to make the playoffs for this season to be considered a success.
I like Brain Kelly but the dismal defensive coaches he was responsible for hiring his first two seasons here will come back to haunt him.

I say we go empty backfield 5 wide QB draw on 1st play. Probably go for 30 and will have them shaking their heads

Texas won this game handily. Mistakes by UT in the 4th made it appear closer than it really was, and even then it was not close.

Our defense must be much improved. We are the underdogs here so we have nothing to lose

haven’t seen an LSU defense since 2019 that’s not been completely awful in some respect. Until I do, we are an 8-4/9-3 team at best. And Clemp will roll us. But hopefully this is the year.

They’ve been the worst LSU has ever seen. With just an average D, We would have made a run with JD at the helm. That said and IMO, it had very little to do with coaches…. It was a cancerous player environment that has finally (hopefully) cycled through.

I agree with this as well.

Interestingly enough Hester & Flynn think we shouldn’t run read options or QB option plays because they think we could simply run straight HB plays with more creative schemes.

They must not think Nuss is really gonna run it much this season.

OL-Lost 4 starters. This is our biggest unknown going into the season. CBK better have them ready.
