Golfing wrist injury

At the end of a round the other day, the tendon outside of my wrist on left hand where the hand meets the forearm started hurting. It didn’t hurt during a specific shot but seemed to be a gradual type of injury. Still hurting a couple of days later, even after taking ibuprofen. Difficult to hit a golf ball with the pain.
Has anyone experienced this type of injury while golfing and know how to treat it?

If you rest your hand on a surface in front of you and squeeze where the pain occurs does it hurt?

Ok, I’m no doctor: but If I had to guess it’s some form of inflammation based pain like tendonitis.
I got it in my wrist and my left pinkie tendon (trigger finger) when I first started and overworked my body and caused inflammation.
What helped me was icing it multiple times a day, NSAIDS and staying away from touching a club for a week (I know, sucks)

Tbh this used to be a common issue for me when I played high school golf. I just abused ibuprofen. And the problem naturally faded away after I went to college and didn't have as much time for golf anymore. It's strictly a usage injury. I will say, lifting weights and building the strength in your wrists up also helps.

Grab some voltaren cream from the pharmacy. It used to be a prescription arthritis medication but it’s OTC. Essentially a souped up Alleve that you can apply to the area. Should help big time with the inflammation.
If it persists, get it checked though, My buddy tore something in his wrist and he ended up having to give up the game because he never got it treated properly

You're going to want to consider switching to some quality graphite shafts, baw.

The other injury it could be is a broken navicular bone. I broke mine freshman year of college during a tournament. Mine was so small the X-ray could barely detect it; an MRI was needed to fully catch it.
If that’s it, lay off for about 5-6 weeks and it should be fine.

I had this for nearly a year. Would go away but always return when I played. I wore a brace for several months. Finally got a cortizone shot in the area and gave it 4 weeks or so rest and it hasn't come back.

Didn’t see anyone ask, so I will
Do you hit off mats frequently? I had a HS teammate that developed carpel tunnel syndrome from hitting off mats frequently

Is there some sort of thing you could hold in your hand and go through a range of motion to sort of build up strength?

Tbh what helped me was free weight bench with dumbbells. Even if you go light weight, it tends to build up the strength and stability in the wrists quite nicely.
There was also an exercise with a rope tied to a 10 pound weight. You hold the rope in front of your face and/or around shoulder height and you roll the 10 pound weight up and down.
My wrists still look puny, but they are a lot stronger and less susceptible to overuse injuries in terms of golf.
