All the scouting reports say that he is a great shooter. I like that he is a bit older too, with some size (big wing). I don't expect him to play a lot, but I hope he carves out a role..

Defensively he looks like the real deal. One good year of 3pt shooting, but his ft shooting is mediocre.

If he can become naji that's excellent

That's OK - refs don't let Pels go to the line very much

Naji was still 6'6" and so was Kenrich. We definitely had those type of guys and Herb in mind with that pick. Peavy is 6'8" so if he can be like those guys but bigger and better then that would be awesome.

Watched his Sr Yr highlights. He's basically exactly like Naji. Above average athlete. Can technically create his own shot, especially in the mid range and paint areas. He's got a sneaky little mid post fadeaway that is pretty cash. Good in transition. Slick passer. Elite hustler on both sides of the ball. I think the 3 ball will be hot and cold. The form isn't great, but he actually has some off the dribble game/footwork to create space on his 3.

Overall I truly would rate Naji as a better handler and passer, but this guy might be a little faster, quicker and longer. On the whole, I think we are really going to like this guy. He's a better basketball player than Jordan Hawkins on day 1 in the league. And tbh, if our injury luck is anything like it usually is, he will probably start 25 games this season and get a lot of early development.

Just wondering, but why does this guy get 2 years guaranteed and Reeves I assume only had 1 year guaranteed.

Part of it could be overall potential but we also have a position of need for SF/ PF depth. Like we discussed above we were better off when we had a Hart/ Naji/ Kenrich type player. He's all that but bigger.

We also are finally building a roster where we only have 2-3 spots at the very end of the bench and other larger contracts so having 1-2 guys making less than 2mil is ideal going forward.

The contract could also be used for a trade since we don't have to wait for theb2nd year to be guaranteed.

I think its a few reasons but also that simply having cheap 2nds with potential is a luxury now for financing purposes. As the top half of rosters push to $60-$70mil contracts it is becoming more important to have guaranteed $2-$3mil contracts.
