Lamar Brown Player Profile

There’s a strong expectation he is going to commit to play for LSU this Thursday. I expect him to be a Tiger from some confident folk.

ESPN has him ranked as the #1 overall player. ON3 industry has him ranked as #7 overall.

This would be LSU’s second top ten player to commit (along with Tristen Keys)

Dont get your hopes up that he picks LSU. The Aggies are throwing everything at him.

Yea, I'm not sure what to think on this one. If A&M thinks he's worth more than we do, then I'm not sure what we can do.

I think brown is the type of talent where LSU has gotta try hard to match whatever A&M throws. Legit top 10 kid who’s in your backyard. You already lost Bradford you absolutely can’t lose brown too

Agreed - whether they want to match or not it's a bad look to have the top 2 players in the state go elsewhere

To some degree you wonder if that is a byproduct of both being from the BR area. If you've lived most/all of your life in one place sometimes you want to just experience something new. For a guy like Brown, going to LSU would mean literally staying on the same campus where he attended HS.

And frankly, there is less commitment now from players than ever before. A guy could go out of state to "test the waters" knowing if he doesn't like it he can likely just come back home.

I’m ready for UHigh to disappoint us again. LSU does so much for that school and gets nothing in return.

This is the definition of setting yourself up for disappointment.

Uhigh 5 star, July commitment, VERY active on social media, has an agent.

Tale as old as time. Kid will commit to one of the TX schools and we will cope by saying it’s a long way from signing day. He will make a couple surprise visits during the season to keep us engaged on his social media platforms. Maybe even take a visit with Bradford during the season to really stir it up.

It will take a strong playoff run and a lot of $$ to keep this one in his backyard.

The “U” gloves are cool for how they do it.

I respect that creativity.

I agree. This one has the Dom McKinley 2 summers ago feel. This time the coach isn't getting fired and contracts could be involved. Contracts meaning, done deal, no take backs without legal and/or money compensation. Far too many rumors outside of LSU circles(reliability always in question) of him going Aggie with Miami as the longshot with perhaps a Cantwell type deal brewing.
Hope for the best but expect to be disappointed is my approach.

Ole Gordon has deep ties to UHigh.

I bet he gets it done….

I don't give a fack about the optics. You cant lose Brown because he in an extremely elite player. Bradford is really good no doubt, but LSU can develop and Bradford type with the athletes we possess. Lamar Brown is a unicorn. He's elite in the trenches on both sides. On DL he's the perfect player for what Kyle Williams wants as a DT. He will be a sack monster if he's here. On OL, he's an instant starter at guard and will likely be a guard as talented as Will Campbell was a tackle.

Looks mean nothing in today's recruiting world. No one looks at it writ large. Players are now a commodity, writ large and you have to maintain a large data base and get them when and where you can. The factors whoch once meant something no longer exist. The money is now a big factor, but not th eonly one in some cases.

6 mill dollar deal. For 3 years.

I think he's that important. We offered Stewart 1.25 mill a year last year and USC offered 2.

He's either pulling a Keylan Moses on twitter the last year or he's going to A&M
