What’s your single most exciting play in LSU football history?

That you saw in person or live on television.
For me, it will always be Sammy Martin’s 67 yard touchdown versus TAMU.

Bert Jones to Brad Davis extra pt (oops I mean TD) with 1 second left to beat Ole Miss in Death Valley in 1972.

Probably Skyler Green vs UGA. The emotion in tiger stadium was 10/10.

I wasn't born yet, but Billy Cannon's 1959 Halloween night 89 yard punt return for a touchdown vs Ole Miss. It turned out to be the game winner, 7-3.

Jacob Hester's game-winning touchdown vs. Florida in 2007. I have a photo of it on the wall in my office.
I was at the earthquake game and I have to rank that #2 compared to how excited I was to become undisputed #1 in the country after USC lost earlier in the evening.
In third place I have to put Clyde Edwards-Helaire reception at the end of the second quarter vs Alabama in 2019. (Actually, a few plays from that game might be tied for #3 on my list.)

Toss dive in the second quarter of the Ole Miss game to Spencer aware for 2 yards on 2nd and 7.

My personal favorite would be Flynn to Byrd against Auburn in 2007

Flynn to Byrd against Auburn. All that built up to us taking that snap and the end result was nuts.

Very good list

JD5 to Mason Taylor to beat Bama in OT.

I was in the house for Spears’ pick 6 vs OU. Pretty spectacular

In person I’d have to say Mason Taylor vs Bama.
On TV, I may get some people disagreeing but Ja’Marr Chase scoring that TD to open the game vs Bama in 2019. We had looked inept (that’s an understatement) on offense vs Bama for nearly a decade and had been shut out twice in the last 4 seasons vs them. To come out and open the game punching them in the mouth in their own stadium solidified the fact that our team was unstoppable.

I was so disgusted with The Kentucky Game until Randall to Henderson with the fans tearing down the goal posts in Lexington.
Hodson to Fuller
Flynn to Byrd
Both against Auburn

Hard to beat the feeling for Daniels 25 yard OT run followed by Maason Taylor two point conversion for me.
Posted on 7/6/25 at 6:19 pm to LSUTANGERINE
In person:
Jaden to Taylor for the win in OT
Burrow to Chase in BDS for 1st TD
Fournette carrying Auburn defender
Honey Badger needs his own thread…

Hard to pick just one.
But two that come to mind are:
Cedric Donaldson Pick 6 vs UF ‘97
Bluegrass Miracle

I wish I could put this one on my list! With only like 30 sec left in the half after the previous TD I went to the restroom and missed Queens int and CEHs TD…
As a consolation prize for missing that play, it was absolute pleasure to witness the Bama fans meltdown when Moss’ toe tap was confirmed. You would have thought the fans were going to storm the field!
