Ryan Schimpf and Blake Dean hit back-to-back homers 2X in the same inning vs the Greenie Weanies.
Hanny and Hawthorne on the call.

That was a fun game. In my mind it was an ivy league team like Harvard but I definitely do remember

I was there. It was finals week so the coaches agreed to the mercy rule. Was probably the most unique thing I've seen at a sporting event in person.

I remember listening to that on the radio. This was before every game was on TV.
Didn't LSU hit two grand slams in the same inning against miss st the year prior? Seeing this reminded me of that.

Hawthorne & Hanny were a good broadcast team. I seem to remember that Jim Hawthorne would sometimes do play by play for the first 3 innings, then switch to color for innings 4-6, & then finish the game doing play by play. This clip was in the 5th inning, so Hanny was doing BPB & Jim was providing color. Am I remembering that correctly?

Hanny would call the middle innings then “turn it back over to the voice of the Tigers, Jim Hawthorne.”
I miss them on the call. Simpler times

You are indeed remembering that correctly. This is something that used to happen quite often with MLB broadcasting teams.

I have both of the Dean HR balls
Despite Hawthorne's (and Hanny's) call that the first one went over the wooden fence, it didn't. I had to beg the the usher who was guarding a pile of dirt to let me go back there and get it.
When Schimpf came back up later in the inning, I went straight back to right field. He hit his to left, and I figured I'd just wait for in right Dean to come up again
Same result.

Illinois and it was three grand slams - not in the same inning though.
