I am looking for someone well-versed in will contests and interdiction issues (not general estate lawyer).

Any suggestions?

How much is on the line? There's a massive range of costs. Can get a good estate attorney for less, can get a team from a big firm litigation group for a lot more.

Once it turns to litigation, do not hire an "estate planner," litigation is a new ball game.

Yes, it seems to be that way.

A real fight with high level counsel will cost 250k-500k. And that could go higher. Factor that in.

If you want to litigate on principle, just remember that they are your principles, not your lawyer’s.

Usually you’d post a burner email for people to recommend offline.

I figured it would be at least this much. Unfortunately.

I'm just looking for a few names to explore based on real world experiences here.

This is my Google.

Ask Joe Mengis for a recommendation. He is in BR. He doesn’t do contested stuff anymore. Well maybe if you pay him enough he will. LOL

He teaches Succession CLE topics for LSU if that means anything to you. Great guy and I would trust his opinion 100% with any succession matter. Maybe get an opinion from him on your case and most probable outcome. Then proceed from there at least with some direction.

Joseph W. Mengis

Linda Melancon @ Legacy Estate. That's what they do.

I would suggest searching based on the type of assets in dispute.

In this situation, the key issues also involve the timing of the changes in relation to the individual’s medical capacity and potential undue influence by their power of attorney.

Testament done near end of life with indications of mental incapacity of the testator? Presumably screwing kids out of inheritance? Giving it all to a second spouse that’s not the mother of the children ala Benson?

Damn this is making me miss court. LOL

Joe is 100% legit.

His father was a law professor/teacher when I was in law school. He was a good man.

The average person should spend all their money before they die so the kids don’t have anything to fight about.
