In 2024 Clemson played 12 P5 schools but 6 of those had losing records (combined 26-48). They went 2-4 against the teams with winning records with wins going against 7-6 Pitt and 11-3 SMU.

In those 12 games Klubnik went 272/444 for 3066 yards and 28tds vs 6 ints. That’s 61% completion at 6.89 ypa or 11.2 ypc. In the 4 losses he went 101/164 for 61% and 986 yards 4 tds and 3 ints. Klubnik’s last 4 games he went 101/161 62% 1166 yards 9 tds vs 2 ints.

LSU played 11 P5 schools with only two having losing records (combined 11-14). LSU was 5-4 vs teams with winning record.

In those 11 games Nuss went 274/441 for 3270 yards and 20 tds to 11 ints. That’s 62% for 7.41 ypa and 11.9 ypc. In the 4 losses he went 109/178 61% 1212 yards 6 TDS to 6 ints. In Nuss’s last 4 games he went 101/149 67% 1182 yards 8 TDS to 1 int.

These are just stats, decipher how you want.

Some to zero.

Nuss has to run if we want to have the season we want.

Agree. And it’s worse than some to zero.

Klub had 463 yards and Nuss had -38

For Gods sake people. There was a reason Nuss never ran last year. There was no backup quarterback.

That’s all I really need to know to ignore the difference in stats

This was probably the number one thing drilled into his head the off season. Of all the things I hope Nuss fixes, I feel most confident that he’ll run when we need it. He sees the holes, he’s just gotta run through them now.

If Nuss can average 30-50 yds per game rushing, we will make the semi finals of the playoffs. He needs to do just enough to keep the defense honest on short yardage and red zone plays. That’s the difference in keeping drives alive and scoring TD’s instead of taking FG attempts.

And it doesn't have to be a lot. Just make the defense respect your ability to gain yards with your feet. Take what the defense gives you then they will react by shutting down the running lane, which opens up the passing lanes even more. This is an aspect of the game I really hope Nuss uses because in terms of the passing game he doesn't need much of a window already. If he opens the window just a half step more with this feet, that is huge for Nuss.

This completely doesn’t matter, but Klubnik and Nuss are the 2 highest rated QBs on the new CFB video game.

Also tied with Drew Allar..Not sure if this means we will have a down year for QBs overall but looks like the two best QBs in CFB will be facing off week 1.

This year we have Michael Van Buren. His presence should change the dynamics on offense a lot.

This is all completely pointless

They didn’t play the same schedule

They didn’t have the same offensive line

They didn’t have the same WRs

there was more than a couple of times he could have ran for 5 or 6 yards to get a 1st down when there was nobody 15 yards near him.

Joe Burrow isn't a rushing QB either, but he had a crazy stat where nearly 80% of the time he did run, it was a 1st down.

Nuss didn't take the short and quick 1st downs. This year, he HAS to. If he forces another 10+ interceptions, it's going to be yet another 9-10 win season and tha'ts not going to fly for Kelly's time at LSU. The buyout gets less and less each year. We have to make a playoff.

If Ricky Collin’s wouldn’t have quit on the team, maybe Nuss takes off and runs more. We all saw what happened when the Vandy transfer went in for a series. We have a good backup now, who can run. LSU makes the playoffs this year. I think LSU wins it all.

Portal. Had to be a reason he didn’t play when Nuss got hurt. Guess I shouldn’t have said quit during the season.
