Is the OBBB actually unpopular?

I see polls and fake news saying its very unpopular, but I have a hard time believing either of those things.

Theres been so much misinformation reported on it, I dont know how anyone could come to an honest and solid conclusion

If the news is reporting it’s unpopular, and not good . Then it’s prob popular and very good !

People who rape children and autistic fricks who read an Econ 101 book 30 years ago in college and think that makes them an expert don’t like the bill.

I don’t like it. It’s exactly the opposite of clean, targeted legislation.
Do your fricking jobs and deal with these issues in smaller, more cohesive groups.
This “everybody voted against something so nobody is to blame” crap is killing us in debt.

I think there are parts of it that are unpopular. If someone asked me if I was for or against it, I'd say I'm against some of the revisions to the Higher Education Act, but generally in favor of the permanent tax cuts. On a poll, that probably puts me in the unfavorable column, although I don't know that my cons truly outweigh my pros.

It would hurt us more if it failed. That would be considered a huge win for democrats.

It’s mostly unpopular amongst those who also say Trump’s unpopular. So as usual, nothing more than a vocal minority - who themselves ARE indeed unpopular.

Many fiscally conservatives dont like it but the progs are melting.

90% of Americans have no fricking clue what the BBB is - including those who claim to support it and those who don’t
I’m putting all of my trust in Scott Bessent - I hope I am right with my decision. Yes, I could be getting played by trusting him but for some reason, every time I hear him talk, I trust him
He has said over and over and over that it’s a $1.7 trillion deduction in overall spending… it is temporarily going to increase the deficit BUT because of the massive growth we will have because of it… it’s something that this country has never seen before and it will end up chipping away at a lot off the overall deficit
Not to mention, it’s going to put an average $5-$7k in savings per year per citizen.
This is only the very first step out of a few more down the road that will help make this happen
It also will control inflation.
I look at it this way.. we have been trying the same fricking thing for the past 40+ years and nothing has changed except for when Trump and Bessent were running the economy between 2016-2020 and it was the best economy in our nation’s history. So, based off his actions, I have to put my trust in him - I welcome the change.
Even if the change does not pan out the way they are predicting, it will still be a trillion times better than what we just went through with Jill Biden and Kamala Harris running the economy

No, omnibus bills seem to be incredibly popular in DC, that's why despite campaigning on never signing a single omnibus bill Trump immediately pushed for a massive omnibus bill as soon as he got to DC

It is a crap bill that has to be passed.
Most people I talk to live the extension of Trump’s tax cuts and increased border funding.
All agree that increasing the deficit another 3 trillion dollars is not what they voted for. Increasing the SALT deduction is widely unpopular except in deep blue states. Increasing military spending is unpopular.

Yes, unpopular amongst some, but not so much amongst others. Which is the case with everything, typically. I would particularly point out the assertion of unpopularity of military aspect and military spending….up until just a couple few years ago, spending money on the military was mostly unpopular amongst the left, as a general matter. But now we add to that a certain cross section of the right, i.e. isolationists.

Yes, with TDS dems. The CBO is partisan and most often way wrong and downplays Trump’s economic growth effect in the equation. It is beautiful but not perfect. Never is. It addresses the border/illegals caused by brandon, funds the wall, and blocks the massive increase in our income taxes. It’s time to pass it and move on. Pick up the failed pieces and put it in the next bill.

I mean... Trump is a dim so that explains why he ran on no omnibus and then as soon as he got in office was suddenly pro omnibus bills

I don't know. I just hope it was worth it. This thing is going to be used to beat republicans over the head for the next decade.
It's the oddest thing though. I think that's exactly what they want. Something that can keep them in the minority. More time to go complain on Hannity, less time to have to actually legislate. Or really do anything for that matter.

That seems like an extreme reach.
