Revisiting Game 3 of 2009 title series

We always tend to check out Game 1 because of DJ's heroics in the top of the 9th, but in re-watching Game 3, it didn't seem fair with us having Jared Mitchell and Chad Jones to throw out there at them in addition to our baseball team.
Seeing Mitchell absolutely smoke a 3-run shot in the first, then Chad Jones come out and strike out their two best hitters in the bottom of the 6th, then pitch another inning of scoreless ball, just unfair.
Then, they had to face Coleman in the 8th and 9th. Coleman went for 4Ks and no runs in those two innings.
They were No. 1 most of the season and never let the pressure get to them. Also, one of the few teams to win everything that year: SEC regular season AND tourney champs and CWS champs. Only lost one game in the playoffs, and that was Game 2 where Jungmann pitched that incredible game to beat us 5-1.

my mob team is the white sox and I was so pumped when they drafted Mitchell in the first round. Once in a while I think about what could have been , meanwhile the sox lost 121 last year

what game was it where chad jones first came out and got some huge outs and runs back to the dugout FIRED UP and i think buzzy was running towards him to chest bump him then realized jones is a big man and would likely decapitate him like an arknasas received and bailed at the last minute...

Probably the 6/24 final vs. Texas. He relieved Ranaudo. He pitched 1.2 innings with no hits and 2 K's . He also pitched in the 6/22 game (relieved Coleman) and the 6/13 game vs Virginia.

Chad Jones coming in is one of my favorite moments in LSU baseball history.

Yep. He comes in with one out and bases empty in the bottom of the sixth and just throws filthy stuff to strike out their two best hitters, Belt and Moldenhauer. Then, he comes off the field like he had just strip-sacked Tim Tebow. It was fricking awesome.

That inning sapped the Horns of most of their remaining life. Remember, they had fought back to tie it 4-4 in the bottom of the 5th. We jumped all over them in the top of the 6th with 5 runs, but with their best hitters coming up, they could have chipped away. Remember, Moldenhauer had one of those three homers in the fourth inning of Game 1. Ranaudo had begun to look a bit shaky in the bottom of the 5th. He started with a fly out to start the 6th, but when Chad came out and did what he did, it was like sucking out what little life might have been left.

My favorite moment was the play where he was covering first on the ground ball to the right side. You could see the Texas batter veer to his right and slow down a little afraid of a collision because he saw Jones barreling towards first

Does anybody have any highlights of the Villanova and UCF series from that season
In a 16-0 win against UCF jones, Landry, and Mitchell all hit homers plus Austin Nola

The Dreadlocks of Doom was a load! That could have been real ugly.

We were sitting in the outfield. Jared Mitchell straight up nuked that home run

or in the Villanova series when Didier went 1-1 with a homer despite being injured for the year

I got a decent photo of that HR and sent it to him. Figured he didn't have many action shots and would enjoy it.

Dean had one of the prettiest swings in baseball at the time.
