Selfie Pics with Mouth Wide Open as if in Awe

I have friends and family from all parts of the political spectrum. I have never once seen a selfie of this type from any of my right-leaning friends and family. I have seen many from my left-leaning friends and family.
Does anyone, particularly the left-leaning people of the OT, have any explanation on this?

The three guys from Car Trek constantly have promotions with them doing the whole mouth open thing. Two of those are extremely right wing, one conspiracy level right.
