The good old days when beer commercials were good. Now they show a bunch of queers drinking some fruity looking things

Bedico Creek (as an intermittent stream) cuts through our property near the Tangipahoa/St. Tammany Parish Line. You hardly know it's there until a hurricane. Then its a raging torrent of water with rolling balls of fire ants.

I grew up fishing bedico creek in the late 80s and 90s. Never saw this commercial before, must have aired right before my time.

Growing up around that time, we always heard about how you didn’t want to run into the Bedico Bums, a gang of badass guys who would kick your arse if they ever caught you down by Old Landing, the Star Theater, Stein’s Grocery, Badeaux’s (either one), etc.

Slidell had a similar urban legend about guys from Pearl River except that one was true.

I’m sure Tarzan Crowe and his brothers were part of what you’re talking about in PR.

CSB incoming
I know the "it doesn't get any better than this" guy that goes "whoo" and holds up the stringer. His son and I were in Boy Scouts together in the early 80's.

Chris Campbell was the kid's name, don't remember the Dad's name though.

I do remember we were putting together the grocery list for a campout and his dad suggested eggs benedict. Even as 11 yr olds we laughed at him.

Nothing like the video that's for sure. Bream/sacalait was decent.

The ones that had a run in with a certain navy unit training in the pearl in early 80s... didn't go well

does anyone but me remember a beer commercial from the 70s (I think it was Jax) where the guy throws his pull tab overboard and a big bass takes it like a lure? The point of the commercial was to not throw the pull tab overboard

am I imagining that?

The best part of that commercial -- other than its general complete bad assery -- is them deep frying a pan of bass in Crisco.

Modern fishing geeks would have an absolute stroke

Frying largemouth bass. Gonna trigger some OB folks

What a great commercial. The boat isn't $100,000. The mesh hats. The beer cooler. What a time to be alive.
