The number one has to be: Court Spacing.

There is no one but Trey Murphy that will have any gravity whatsoever. No one spaces the floor whatsoever on this team but him.

Number 2 to me is obvious Defense:

Herb Jones and then... yikes. Fears doesn't play D, Murray isn't playing anytime soon, Queen can switch but is poor on ball. Trey is capable. Zion can when he's in shape but still isn't great. Poole doesn't play it at all.

That really depends on your definition of gravity. Zion will generate tons of gravity for guys and Poole will change a lot of that with his rim pressure.

Fair, but I was talking about 3 point spacing gravity I guess, if that makes sense

Wait, why would Poole not have gravity? I guarantee teams aren’t leaving him open from three.

True Center

Backup vet PG

Sam Hauser

3&D vet

We need to add another 3pt shooter. My only gripe with the draft is drafting (2) guys with sub 30% 3pt shooting.

We need to trade 40 and cash for a higher 2nd and draft Fleming. If we have to move Jose, Reeves, or Karlo I'd be open to it

I'd then also trade Hawkins + Boston (exercise his option) and trade them to Utah for Svi Mykhailiuk (another shooter)

Sign a wing defender that can play the 3-4 and Capela to one-year deals

Fears / Jose / Reeves / Murray (IR)
Poole / Herb / Svi
Trey / Bey / Fleming
Zion / defender / Queen
Capela / Missi / Matkovic

Yeah, no two shakes about it...trading that pick next year is, was, and forever will be stupid as shite

Yep. I’m all for this. Would have taken him at 23.

1. Zion in shape and under 265lbs
2. Zion plays 70+ games and is healthy on game 82.
3. Zion plays defense and rebounds.
4. A big who can shoot 3's.
5. A new coach.
6. Play Fears and Queen and take the bad with the good.
7. Jordan Poole continues to shoot the 3 at 37%+ off the dribble.
8. Herb shoots 38%+ from 3
9. Murray to recover from his injury and be as good as he was before it.
10. Trey makes any improvement to any part of his game (he is the least of my worries)

Bey should be a solid 3 and D guy for us and I would think our sixth man, I think he’s an underrated guy we got in that trade who could have a real nice impact.

Also will we resign Brown, he’s another defensive presence at guard who could help shore up some deficiencies.

Let’s attempt at a current depth chart:

PG- Poole/ Fears/ Jose/ Elfrid
SG- Herb/ Hawkins/ (Murray)/ Reeves
SF- Trey/ Boston
PF- Zion/ Bey/ Matkovic
C- Missi/ Queen

Obviously positions are a bit fluid but just to see things spelled out. I think either Jose or Payton are gone, maybe both. We have #40 and probably at least one FA signing incoming if not two smaller ones. I would love a 4/5 like Broome, maybe allowing Bey to bump up to a big 3. And also as insurance at the 5.

Elf is getting cut, he gives you another 3 million away from the Tax Line.

Joe insinuated that we are not done with acquiring big men. Whether that is through the draft, trades, or FA remains to be seen.

As Fun Bunch mentioned, Joe isn't drafting for fits with Zion, he is drafting players that can attack.

It is refreshing that our VP actually answers questions directly instead of using several words to say nothing.

DJM is in rehabbing 6 days/ week. Hopefully he can return sooner than later and be impactful.

Maybe not if they move Jose. If Jose isn’t in the rotation, I think that possibility is more real than we would like.

Replace Jose/ Hawk/ Reeves/ Boston with a vet PG and vet SG and add a staring Center. That leaves #40 and 1 more player. You'd have Karlo/ Queen to rotate PF/ and C depth.

Between Fears and Poole, I think Jose’s gone.

The only thing that may let him stay a while is the injury to Murray.

One doesn't have to do with the other. Elf really isn't much of an NBA player and his contract is fully non-guaranteed.

He's getting waived
