Obviously a lot of people are upset, but I am actually happy and excited. Dumars is taking risks and actually trying to be proactive to help a franchise rather than sitting there and do nothing. Ever since the franchise was established, we have been mainly inactive in free agencies, trades, and drafts. Although it is a risk, it is a risk that could pay off. For example, the flashiness of players like Poole and Fears have the ability to excite a city. Also, Queen has the potential to be a non-traditional big man that could make a huge difference. You are never going to go anywhere in this league if you don’t take risks. I support dumars.

By that logic we should trade Zion for a late first, because the guy we draft with that late first COULD end up being a special player. Yeah it's an insane risk, but we gotta take risks to get better. Am I right?

Disagree. With Willie as HC we have a strong possibility of being top3 in a loaded draft next season. Moron move.

Oh yeah, let’s excite a city and be flashy while giving away all of our assets for those guys and then handing over top 10 picks to other teams in the process.

But sure, we will be flashy

This team has too much talent to miss the playoffs. Be negative all you want…

No way to spin this. It’s a huge blunder.

Not that insane of a risk. Giannis doesn’t miss the playoffs and this pelicans team will be in the playoffs.

You can kiss my arse, OP. This team has spent the last 2 years rapidly regressing to the worst roster in the league. This draft accelerates that slide. Dumars is the moron we knew he was.

I can’t excuse the bad value we got in this trade, but I don’t agree with this part. Roster wise, over the past 2 days, we added Jordan Poole, Saadiq Bey, Jeremiah Fears and Derrick Queen while losing CJ McCollum and Kelly Olynyk. We are much better today than we were yesterday.

Are we? You just added journeymen from the shittiest teams in the league and reached for 2 guys who don't fit at all next to Lazyfat.

The only silver lining in the moves he has made these 2 days is that maybe they signal moving on from Lazyfat, because none of them work well next to him.

I think the problem fans are having is that yes we have potentially improved the roster a great deal but that pontential is 3 years away. And there's nothing wrong with having to start over. But why get younger and start over while ALSO dealing away control over valuable assets like next years pick?

We have never had a top 5 pick with Willie being our head coach

I thought the same thing last offseason, when we had more talent and depth than we do now (lost BI, CJ, and pretty much lost Murray; added Poole, Bey, and the two rookies). We went on to win 21 games. I am foolishly confident that we're going to have a good Zion season, so I wouldn't be shocked if we snuck into the playoffs. But I also wouldn't be surprised if we win ~30 games.

Yea.. but you never imagined we would have the kind of injuries we had last season. That killed the season early on.

Because 75% of the roster missed 80% of the session
