Anyone know some reasonably priced lessons in the BR area? I looked into BREC and it's 150 per lesson for 55 minutes... Might pull the trigger on it but I just didn't know if 150 is too much or around where I'd get anywhere else

Brian at Mind Body Swing in Prairieville. was very good for me. My goal was just to be a better striker of the ball. I've had two lessons with Brian and he has helped a lot. Didn't try and re invent my swing. Just tweaked a couple of things

On BREC's website the only instructor is Chuck Winstead. When you click the scheduling link it says it is 150$ for 55 minutes. I'll still call Santa Maria and see what the deal is

Most affordable I've run accross in Baton Rouge is Paul Christmann who teaches at the legacy driving range off sherwood. Nice guy. You don't get the launch monitor data that you get with some of the newer more expensive guys, but he's been coaching a long time and knows his stuff. Last time I saw him it was 80 bucks for an hour. He might have gone up since then.

Schneider's golf mechanics on bluebonnet is an indoor golf simulator place where the owner gives lessons. His lessons are pretty reasonable but he also has packages where you can go and practice on the regular and get a free lesson every month. He also has more expensive packages where you would get a lesson a week etc. But his yearly membership is something like 1500. For the 1500 you get 12 lessons (once a month) and you can come in for 2 hours a week and practice. His practice setup has cameras that record your golf swing which really helps me. Sometimes it feels like your doing something with your body like rotating and then you watch yourself on the video and you aren't turning nearly as much as it feels etc. I've had a number of lessons from the guy and he knows his stuff and is super helpful. If you are looking for lessons from a good instructor and that includes all of the modern technology you'd be hard pressed to find anything more affordable than this place.

The former LSU head coach can probably charge that much.

There’s 2-3 guys at SM giving lessons and I think they are only 50-75/hour. I inquired this Spring but due to weather and my traveling for work could nver get it scheduled.

I second Santa Maria or Golftec. Jacob at Golftec is great. At SM, I hear good things about BJ.

Schneider tries to change everyone’s swing to mimic his or other pros. Very long process. I wouldn’t go there unless you were looking for a complete overhaul

It's easier to watch a few videos analyzing other pros and teach that, than it is to breakdown what's going wrong in an amateurs swing and then try to fix it.

OP, I'd check Burkstaller out at the Island. Not sure his rates but he takes what you're working with and tweaks it to get better results.

Yeah, he was a top 100 teacher before becoming the golf coach.
