Anyone have recommendations? Need about a 1/2 cord or so in Prairieville. I have some contacts that I’ve used in the past but I either can’t get in touch or they’re not in business anymore.

FB marketplace usually has a bunch. Would be a good time to buy.

FB marketplace

Much better finding a local recommendation if possible, depending on what you do with it.
Here’s an overview of what I get on marketplace(DFW):
30-50% less wood due to dimensions being skewed and nobody makes up for the shorter cuts.
Everyone says seasoned but that is never the case, so I had to weld up more racks.
Same supplier might give you the exact species you want one day then a sloppy mix the next and not think anything of it.
I’ve given up and just cut and season my own cooking wood.

Agreed. That’s why I’m looking for a recommendation.

Call WB Lawn and Landscape. Produces a lot of seasoned firewood and delivers all over ebr, ascension etc.

call a tree company tell em to drop off any oak they have, get a chainsaw and rent a log splitter buy beer and steaks invite some buddies over done. it will be dry enough for what you want when you want it. stack and split it properly.

Something tells me that we have crossed paths or run in similar circles.

After the last hurricane this is exactly what we did at the camp. Pieces too large went out for the parish and we ate drank and chopped wood for two days. Had to get back to work to allow the liver to rest!

But to the OP, when driving around you will see signs. Just keep your eyes peeled. Yes FB Marketplace has some as well.

I personally dont know anyone who delivers anymore. Deon Dixon in galvez usually has plenty good stuff, but you have to go get it.

I've used Ascension tree and stump for the last few years and been very satisfied. Last year a half cord oak was $170 if you picked it up and $250 delivered.

1/4 cord oak is $90 pickup and $150 delivered.

1 cord oak is $320 pickup and $450 delivered.

Again that is what I paid last year around September. And those are cash prices.

He's down 42 not far from Freds on the River.

I've bought from this baw out in Holden several times. He delivers for a fee. Always burned great for me, his prices were good, and he has his number publicly on the internet already for selling firewood, so I don't mind posting it.
