Broken hamate bone
I guess that’s why he moved him down in the lineup and why he was trying to bunt so much at weird times

That makes all of the sense in the world.

With this revelation- he has my approval to continue wearing the earring!

Luckily he's the best bunter in college baseball

Can we get a player to break his hamate bone every year?

It seemed odd he fell off when the regionals started after his 2 bombs. Just thought it was a severe slump
Makes sense now.

Its been pretty obvious if you were paying attention. The drop off in his hitting and increased bunting. Also a few times after fouling off pitches he would be favoring his hand afterwards.
Also he wasn't as fluid in his fielding or throwing through the entire post season and although he was still making the plays, bobbling the transfers and double cluthing throws uncharacteristically.

The person that downvoted you doesn’t know LSU baseball history.

Well yeah, I think alot of people knew something was wrong, but you don't always jump to "oh he must have a broken bone in his hand."

Yep, eerie coincidence that we had a broken hamate bone and beat a pitcher named Morrison for 2 of our 8 championships.

Isn’t that the injury Warren Morris was recovering from when he blasted the walk off in 1996?

It may have been Warren Morris that downvoted me.

It got hit on the hand in the regional pulling back from a bunt attempt. When he got hit, I was surprised he stayed in the game.
