Could come back with NIL and secure a top 10 pick in the draft next year

If he’s not a first round pick he should come back

As much as I'd love to see it, he'd be stupid to come back. Guy has already had 1 UCL injury. Needs to secure the bag for himself and his family

Sorry dude, but Shores may be a 1st rounder already. Agents/Advisors don’t advise player who already first rounders to return in baseball. Football, yes. But not in baseball. Now, if he falls outside of the Top 5 rounds, I could see it. But that seems highly unlikely at this point.

He moved up 3 spots in the draft every time he threw a fastball with that insane movement.

There’s a big difference between first round and 5th round in baseball.

If he’s in the first he should go. Second, tossup. Any lower and he should return. He has the potential to go 1/1 next year.

He is going to get a 7 figure signing bonus. He is gone.

He can get over slot value. Teams are going to know his number to sign.

He’s had TJ surgery already. He showed what he’s capable of. Time to go get paid. Staying here is not worth the risk.

You might be right. Didn’t Schmidt turn down a 7 figure signing bonus though?

I absolutely could see late first round. He is everything, every quality you look for in a pitcher.

Yes. So did Guidry, Noot, and Kling. Not uncommon for high school signees. Unheard of for college draft eligible players.

No. He already witnessed what could happen. He bet on himself and essentially passed on the MLB draft out of high school. An injury almost cost him his career.

He fought back. His draft stock is high. No reason to tempt fate again.
