Have obviously been watering a lot. Looks great. Currently at 16 days since putting it down. Thanks

I mowed TifTuf Bermuda on day 9.
If you don’t have a reel mower, I would make sure your blades are sharp.
If so, have at it.

Go ahead and mow it. I wouldn't cut it too low.

Did you get Empire? Palisades?
Location?
I’m hoping to sod the backyard with Zoysia next year or this fall/winter

Does it need to be mowed? You don’t want/need to cut it short after transplanting.
You should just be tapering off the watering. If the sod is securely rooted, you could mow it if necessary. However, I’d guess it still a little wet/moist beneath it and the roots are still a little weak.

Palisades. In Mandeville.
Yes it was getting long already so went ahead and mowed at highest setting. Looks great with no problems.

Let it get good and rooted, then cut it.

Think I waited 2 weeks before cutting mine. Most nervous I've ever been mowing. Don't take off more than a third of the leaf length. Don't let it get tall enough that you'll end up taking off more than a third. I usually mow mine at 1.5" now. I kept it cut at 2 or 2.5" in the beginning
It's been 3 years now but damn I love my Palisades. This is how it looks before I mow it.

I have Palisades Zoysia. I mowed mine soon as it was getting tall enough to mow. You can’t kill Palisades. I had some get into my flowerbeds, small patches, and sprayed it with Roundup 4 times before it died. That stuff is tough. It got so thick I did a height of cut adjustment 3 weeks ago and damn near scalped it to the dirt. It’s now the greenest yard around me again.

I had Zoysia put down in March and I am now mowing every third day. Really need a good mower. Using a 16" Scott's reel mower and it is wearing my olde arse out.
Anyone have an alternative?

I wish I had a solution for you. My total property is 2.5 acres and have about half to a third of an acre as zoysia. I cut everything with the zero turn. When I mow the zoysia yard, I basically double mow it so that I'm blowing the trimmings towards the front yard and back pasture area. Really need to invest in a bagger for the zoysia yard but the ZT baggers are way pricey.
