This needs to be fixed…..this rule should not exist.

The announcers piss me off more for their clairvoyance about the batters intent.

And the Chris mf keeps saying “if he was trying to not get hit his elbow would have stayed up”. Bitch I just took a batter stance and turned away and guess what, natural body flow is elbow drop. frick off

In that situation the natural tendency for a right handed batter is to turn back and down at an angle. What a joke.

Yes!! He gave up on hitting the pitch so began dropping his bat lower. and elbow drops.

Exactly. As they watch in slow motion a guy who is prepping to swing then has to try to get out of the way, all while a fast ball is coming up at him.

If reviewing intent, review whether the mf’er was a ball and in the batters box!!
Dumb
Dumb

But put his elbow out when he didn’t have to

It truly is a terrible rule that makes no sense. I don’t care who it is getting called out for a pitcher making a bad pitch makes no sense.
At worse I would be ok if the batter was called back.
Stupid fricking cocksucker pitcher got an out for hitting a batter. Whoever made that rule is legitimately a fricking imbecile.

He didn’t put his elbow out though. He brought it down but that shouldn’t matter. The rule is in place to keep batters from sticking elbow out over the plate.

The ole saying is the ball don’t lie. I HATE umps/refs making a game changing bad call. Seems 1-0 score validates that theory. LFGeaux tigers. One more win…..??

This is where the college rule is unbelievable. If the Ump rules the batter did not attempt to avoid the pitch or intentionally tried to get hit WHILE IN THE BATTERS BOX the the the pitch is a strike. So in this case the Ump ruled on DDS intent and by rule called a ball sailed inside the batters box a stike despite it being 10” out of the zone.
The MLB rule would have said that pitch was a ball and in this case ball 4

Not the way its called, for sure
Posted on 6/21/25 at 9:38 pm to deathinthedelta
No, he moved his elbow away from the strike zone and closer to his body(the batter’s box). It was a BS call

And curled his arm in away from the ball.

You do realize that the ump’s at the game didn’t make the call. The home plate ump ruled him hit by pitch. It went to review and the home plate ump was overturned.
It’s a really bad rule. That’s the issue. The rule itself.
