Added my daughter (16 at time) to our policy last year. Premium went up 168/month.

She’s now 17 and we are looking to buy her a car. Probably a camry or Altima Quotes running about another 160/month.

So basically 325 a month to insure a 16 year old female on a basic low mileage car.

Clean record. Wife (no pics) and I also have clean record.

Other than moving to another state, any good tips out there?

Ultimas are underrated.

Be grateful you don't have a son driving. I asked for a full coverage quote on his 2015 Acura, $525. No thank you, just went without collision and hope he doesn't hit anyone and total his car.

If you're buying her a car, make her an excluded driver on your car if you can.

It's not just LA, it's teen drivers anywhere.

Pay her 250.00 a month not to drive. It will be cheaper in the end.

Get a divorce. Use the ex-wife's address for the driver's license, and use yours for the vehicle registration.

At least that's what the peeps at work are always talking about.

Look up every single car insurance carrier's quote you can to see if there is a lower rate. Nothing you can do besides that really.

Or buy 1 square foot of land in Minnesota or Vermont, and claim that as residence. If land is $20k an acre, and there are 43560 sq ft in an acre. Might be able to get a sq ft after markup for like $5.

We contacted one of those insurance rate shopping people to find us a lower rate, it helped because I didn’t have the time to sift through all the different providers

Progressive is who we had clean records etc, but shite was expensive

Sounds familiar. When adding our then teenage daughter, it doubled from what my wife n I paid for 2 of us.

Then, when adding teenage son, it doubled again, from 3 of us.

Be thankful you have a daughter.

Tell her to get a job.

Raise collision deductible to try to lower premium.

I’m not up to date on the latest fraud techniques. How does that make it cheaper?

Me either. From what I've gathered, the vehicle stays at the father's house listed as a second vehicle for the father.
Daughter uses the mom's address on driver's license to establish residency.

Something about drivers living under your roof.

judging by what I’ve seen, you might be the first one to have insurance on an Altima

Do not do this unless you can 100% guarantee she never drives your car. 100%.
