Skip won all those NCs when baseball wasn’t taken seriously by mist colleges. Credit to him he did win. Now it’s so hard to win , everybody from Florida to Coastal Carolina puts in the funds to win. JJ just seems to know how to recruit , def hits portal in best way possible. And JJ is one of the best on field coaches in college baseball. I for one appreciate the guys hard work. We watch baseball season with the coach’s baseball season starts day after CWS.

Pump the brakes kid. Skip did it with more homegrown talent and not as much national recruiting.

Jay is a damn good coach though

Skip built the program from dust into a powerhouse that has sustained through multiple following coaches and won 5 titles.

Stop.

I love Jay, but stop.

Baseball I’d a different animal now. Look the portal made the best football coach of all times retire from Bama.

A wild guess….. You’re done with the 90s, Jordan couldn’t go left, the NBA was full of plumbers and you’re a Bronsexual?

You in essence said Skip won the titles because other schools weren't taking baseball seriously

That's relative because LSU still puts in more funds than just about anyone. $10 is greater than $3. But even if the guy paying $3 increases his investment to $300, if the guy paying $10 increases his investment to $1,000 it's the same % difference. LSU is the program paying the $1000

LSU didn't "take baseball seriously" until AFTER Skip started to win championships. But even then, LSU's "investment" was ridiculously more than everyone else. It just that good players like playing for good programs.

It wasn't a situation where LSU was throwing piles of cash at the program which eventually paid off. Skip winning the championships brought the piles of cash.

As seriously. West coast baseball ruled college beat the time. My opinion Skip hall of fame yes. But in todays baseball JJ in best on field coach in college ball today. Seems to make all the right moves.

He’s good but let him win 5 NC’s then you can say he’s in discussion for best.

And that's all you needed to say. You didn't even have to mention Skip in the OP

Skip not only made LSU Baseball, he showed every other school how to do it.

Yes the CWS is 75 years old, but before Skip it was a bit of an orphan sport. Skip’s teams and especially their dominance made college baseball what it is today.
