I’m largely ignoring the implications of the game (was it a championship game or not) and just thinking in terms of best game to watch.

For me..

1. 2023 Skeenes vs. Lowder and Tommy White walk off
2. 1996 Morris walk off (only number 2 on my list cause I didn’t see it live and didn’t get to feel the emotion of the game)
3. Last night
4. 2023 game 1 of the championship series
5. 2009 game 1 vs. Texas

I do have some recency bias as I didn’t really join the LSU fandom until 2007ish being from out of state. Maybe some of you who watched those 90s games live could give a better perspective.

There's no way for me to not have Morris' HR at #1. It might be the #1 in CWS history.

That Tre Morgan flip to home v Wake Forest was a once in a lifetime moment.

I’ll never forget that.

Morris homer of course but that damn squeeze play was one of the most tremendous plays under pressure that I have ever seen.

LSU 2000

Forever LSU

I won’t choose because the best is yet to come.

Last night is 5th on the list of games you provided.

I can buy with the “craziest” aspect. But as far as “great LSU game” it’s down the list.

For #1, I think you need to also include the incredible play Tre' Morgan made on that bunt. That play may have been bigger than any single play in that game (other than the last swing of the bat )

There no way the Morris home run isn’t #1. There’s a fricking statue outside the stadium memorializing it

Morris game will never be topped unless it’s the dream scenario of down 3, bases loaded, 2 outs and a 3-2 pitch

The 2000 championship game has to be on there and near, but not at the top. Nothing tops 1996.

2000 championship game:

Single game to decide winner.
Behind to a favored Stanford.
8th inning 3 runs to tie the game.
9th inning walk off.
Ray Wright catch.
I was there in person.

Doesn’t get much better than that 2000 game.

Best defensive baseball play I think I’ve ever seen was the Morgan flip.

Okay… so you weren’t around for it. So I will describe it. The emotion was overpowering. What I remember most was the screaming in the house and in the street outside. Someone called my phone (landline back then) and just screamed into the phone and hung up. To this day, I haven’t figured out who made that call. I asked everyone I knew.

For about 30 seconds to a minute… the LSU world (which is comparatively a madhouse) was a for-real, actual madhouse.

That’s what it was like. And we have been lucky that LSU baseball has STILL been able to thrill us since… such as the 2000 championship game, which I would rate #2 on the list.

Anyone would have to agree. There is a statue outside of the stadium that says so.
